He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil and Helen; and his brother Danny Reed. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Tod Reed (Kellie) of Amherst and Barbara Miller (Brian) of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Korrine Anderson (Kyle), Dustin Reed (Vanessa), Logan Miller, Lizzie Miller, Luke Miller and Lennon Miller; his great grandchildren, Jocelyn Anderson, Bryce Reed, Zach Anderson of Brynlee Angney, J. J and Baby Reed; and his nephews, Daniel Reed and Scott Reed.

Contributions in his memory are encouraged to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
