She was predeceased by: her husband Jesus Mateo; her parents, Dionisia Castillo and Pedro Castillo; and her brother Herman Castillo. She is survived by: her daughters, Miriam Liberty and Eledis "Lidy" Torres; her brother Max Castillo of Vieques; and her grandchildren, Miriam Engle, Marco Serrano, Cristina Adams and Celina Serrano-Spang. She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
