Laura A. Skolnicki Obituary

Laura A. Skolnicki (nee Soltis), 57, of Lorain, died peacefully with her family at her side on Friday October 14, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain.

She was born July 14, 1965 at Neubrucke Army Hospital at Birkenfeld Air Force Base in Germany and had resided in the Lorain/Elyria area most of her life.

Laura graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1983. She worked in shipping and receiving at Lasercraft in Elyria, a company that was very generous and giving to her during her illness.

Laura was very passionate about her Catholic faith and a was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She loved her family and dog and enjoyed being outside gardening and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her son David Skolnicki, daughters: Maria Skolnicki and Jessica Skolnicki; parents Robert & Ann Soltis (nee Bauer), sisters: Michelle Leahy, Susi Schlemmer (Rodd), Mary Mullins (Dana) and Sharon Traxler (Erik); niece Hannah Schlemmer, nephews Ben & Luke Mullins and many close and loving friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday October 20, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of her memorial mass at 11:00 am at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N Ridge Rd, Elyria. The Rev Neil Walters, pastor, will preside.
