He is survived by: his wife Vickie Schmidt of Lorain; his children, Kathryn Picha (Brent) of Burbank, CA and Michael Schmidt (Holly) of Vermilion; his stepson Chris Engle (Jennifer) of Elyria; his parents, Edward Schmidt and Margaret Schmidt; his siblings, Janet Green of Vermilion and Tom Schmidt (Kathy) of Vermilion; his grandchildren, Slade Picha, Julia and Evan Engle; his nephew Nicholas Sheridan; and his great-niece Aubreigh Sheridan.
