She was predeceased by: her husband Ewell "Dewey" Powell; her parents, Hansford Chester and Cannie Chester; and her siblings, James Calvin Chester, Jerema Mitchell, Helen Owens and Margaret "Liz" Golobich.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Sams (Allen) of Seabrook, Texas and Tommy Powell (Lynn) of North Olmsted; her grandsons, Frank Sams (Kerry) of The Woodlands, TX. and Kevin Sams of Lorain; her great grandchildren, Kennedy, Addison, Carter Sams of The Woodlands and Mackenzie Sams of Amherst; and her grandson Jackie Kennedy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
