He was predeceased by: his parents, Pablo Ocasio and Rosario Ocasio; his siblings, Felix Ocasio (Fela), Rosario Luciano (Ramon), Elsa Marquez (Iglain) and Carmen Garcia; and his granddaughter Ava Mishael Bonilla.

He is survived by: his wife Wilma Stella Ocasio; his children, Joseph P. Ocasio of Avon Lake, Daniel A. Ocasio (Emily), Deborah Bonilla (Rafael), David E. (Melissa) of Lorain and Rebecka Perez (Max) of Delmar, NY; and his siblings, Cheo Ocasio of Anderson, SC, Ramon Ocasio (Minerva) of Lorain, Paublita Otero, Luz Vega (Geno), Dolores Serpa (Luis) and Milagro Gonzalez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
