He was predeceased by: his father James E. Mosley Sr.; his son Austin Mosley; and his brother Chuck Bentley. He is survived by: his mother Donna Barker; his children, Valerie Mosley, Stephanie Burnworth and James E. Mosley III; his stepfather Michael Hall; and his siblings, Trish Barton and Christopher Mosley. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
