We are sad to announce that on August 23, 2020, at the age of 82, Herman L Ricks of Lorain, Ohio, born in Hammond, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Lee and Inez Ricks; his siblings, Willie Sims, Charles Ricks, Horace Ricks and Yvonne Taylor; his grandparents, Lymus and Annie Ricks; his aunts and uncles, Cooper Ricks, Walter Ricks, Isaiah Ricks, Herman Ricks, George Ricks, Alex Ricks, Martha Ricks, Beatrice Ricks, Bertha Ricks, Jannie Ricks, Callie Ricks and Mary Ricks; his grandparents, Fred and Lena Sims; his uncles, Fred Sims Sr., Caldwell Sims, Autrie Sims and Alonzo Sims; his stepgrandmother Martina Sims; and his aunts, Nancy Randolph and Palma Lee Hollins.

He is survived by: his grandson Jay (Naujé McCall); his wife Norma Jean Ricks; his children, Michael Ricks, Cynthia Beckett, Jeffery Ricks, Terry Ricks (Stephanie), Jerry Ricks and Scott Ricks; his siblings, Shirley Mae Kelly, Delores Jackson, Betty Rhymes, Melvin Ricks and Milton Ricks; and his aunt Minnie Shanklin. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
