She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Sherman and Strausy Mae Hughes; her husband Francis Lacy Thompson Sr.; and her brothers, Harry Lee Hughes and Arthur Gene Mason No.

She is survived by: her son Francis Thompson Jr. (Frank); her sister Mary Lou Valentin; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Pete, Valerie and Brendon Thompson; and her great grandchildren, Alaya Thompson, Lynn Hess, Aerial Thompson, Hunter Thompson, D'Angelo Smith and Geraldine Aponte-Thompson.
