He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Smith and Viola Smith; his wife Barbara; and his sons, Jerry and Jackie Ray Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Franklin (Allison), Johnny Wayne, Xyane O. Alexander and Jody A. Smith; his grandchildren, Selena, Derek and Jenna; and his great grandchild Jaclyn.
