She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan R. "Ardado" Cortes and Virginia Montero; her husband Jose Antonio Perez; her son Jorge Perez; and her siblings, Diego Cortes, Juanita M. Perez and Carmen Marcial.

She is survived by: her children, Efrain Perez of Lorain, Haydee Maldonado Perez of Lorain and Carmen Cruz of Lorain; and her sisters, Ines Rodriguez (Wilfredo) of Lorain, Alice Rivera (Juan) of Lorain and Matilda Cortes of Sanford, Florida. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
