She was predeceased by: her parents, James Jones and Gertrude Jones; and her brother Jack Jones. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph G. Carter Jr. (Erika), Courtney R. "Fatty" Carter and Cornelius R. "Reggie" Carter (Alicia); and her sisters, Rose Randle and Willy J. "Nana" Williams. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
