He is survived by: his mother Nancy Brown Matthews; his children, Aaron Matthews, Tim Matthews, Jr. (Haley), Mandy Holbrook (Scott) and Jessy Matthews (Sara); his stepchildren, Layce, Kayce Quincel and Austin Quincel; his close friend Billie Jo Quincel; and his siblings, Karen Waddle (Roy), Cathy Gage, Steaven Matthew and Christopher Matthews. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
