He was predeceased by: his mother Florence Mason; and his sister Rebecca Holland. He is survived by: his wife Amy Mason; his children, Todd Mason, Nick Mason (Jenny), Casey Mason (Stephanie) and Kirstyn Gray (Von); his father Gilbert Sr.; his siblings, Jeff Mason (Joan), Danny Mason and Samantha Tipton (Albert); his brother-in-law Dale Holland; and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Mackenzie, Erin, Bennett and Emma. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
