He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Edward and Wanda Jean Fickel (Brown). He is survived by: his wife Cindy Fickel (Ricketts); his children, Benjamin Fickel (Jennifer) of Logan, Matthew Fickel (Amy) of Nelsonville, Ohio and Emily Fickel (Nick Platounaris) of Logan; his grandchildren, Sophie, Hannah, Harper, Xander, Ali, Adi and Ian; and his siblings, Fred Fickel of Logan, Kirby Fickel (Diane) of Logan, Paul Poston (Jennifer) of Logan, Dinah Van Dyke (Ron) and Samantha Hendricks (Mark) of Lancaster, Ohio..
