He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth R. Sr. Nelson and Mary Alice Hale Nelson; and his sisters, Alice Irene Nelson, Roberta Sue Palfrey and Marjorie McJunkin.

He is survived by: his siblings, Cedric Nelson (Joann) of Newark, Rosemary Campbell (Gene) of Columbus, Rhonda Nelson of Lancaster and Cheryl Hankinson (Larry) of Glouster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
