He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dow and Nellie Boals (Milsted); his wife Carol Lee Boals (Christian); his daughter Julianne Ketterman; his granddaughter Jennifer Ketterman; his great grandchild Amber Lynn Schirtzinger; and his siblings, Linda Boals, Robert, Kenneth, Don, Melvin and Ralph Boals.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Sheldon Boals (Janice) of Logan, Jody Beth Clevenger (Michael) of Logan, Renata Jean Boals (TC Chapman) of Lancaster and Jacqueline Lee Shonk (Shawn) of Lancaster, Ohio; and his sisters, Jeannie Still of Logan and Carol Kasler of The Plains, Ohio.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
