She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Phyllis Kay and Davis; her stepfathers, Larry Osborne and Carl Ivan Thomas; her husband Jerry Sheldon Boals; her children, Joshua River (Kelly) of Chillicothe, Ohio and Stephanie River; her stepdaughter Shelbee Wagener of Logan; her grandchildren, Joey, Joselyn and Julian; and her sister Julie Thomas (Nathan Casteel) of Wellston, Ohio. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
