He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hurst and Alma Givens Hurst Stickdorn; and his siblings, Teddy Hurst, Donna Edwards and Wanda Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn S. Staley Hurst; his children, Dick L. Hurst (Mona) of Logan and Amy J. Speckman (Matt) of Logan; his grandchildren, Brent Hurst (Stephanie), Ashley Chapman (Mitch), Sarah Holcomb (Adam) and Joel Speckman; and his siblings, Clark Hurst (Patty) of Corning, Maxine Ward of Lancaster and Becky Staley (Ransom) of Logan. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
