She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Witmer and Katie Landis Witmer; her husband Oliver Foutz Hess; and her grandchildren, Lee and Karl Hess.
She is survived by: her children, Melvin Hess (Rhonda), William Hess (Carol), Timothy Hess (Marcile), Daniel Hess (Kelley), Kathryn Good (Stephen), Kristine Clugston (David), Donna Mullet (James) and Linda Hershey (Weldon); and her sister Ethel Swartzentruber. She is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren.
