He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gastin and Minnie Gastin; his daughter Merita Gastin-Pierce; and his brothers, Walter Jr., Bob and Othal Gastin.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret Wolfe Gastin; his son Randy Gastin (Lisa) of Logan; and his grandchildren, Amy Pierce-Neal of Burlington, Stephanie McQuade (Heath) of Ft. Leonardwood, Sara Maurer (Daniel) of Cincinnati, Lucy Pierce of Springboro, Brandon Garman (Kelly) of Parma, Justin Garman of Columbus and Kyle Garman of Columbus. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
