She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Sauer; her son Richard Sauer Jr.; her parents, Vincent Lamacchia and Rose Lamacchia; and her sisters, Flora Leidinger and Mary Herald.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Tindell (Robert) of Leesburg, GA, Danny Sauer of Raleigh, NC, Karen Hicks (Phil) of Butner, NC, Mark Sauer (Jean) of Charleston, SC, Mike Sauer of Creedmoor, NC, Jack Sauer (Marley) of Durham, NC and David Sauer (Beth) of Mebane, NC; and her sister Anita Gentline (Tom) of Missouri. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
