Eula Fay Johnson Obituary
Eula Fay Johnson, 78, of Lockbourne, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Grove City. She was born on November 24, 1943, in Matewan, West Virginia, to the late Elza and Velva Johnson. Fay was a selfless woman who devoted her life to her family and caring for others.
She was the epitome of kindness and was known for her compassion and big heart. Often opening her home and sparing her last dollar to anyone in need, her generosity reached far and wide. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Fay was touched by her.
She was an avid antique collector and also loved going to yard sales. She occasionally hosted her own yard sale but refused to sell anything. Her other hobbies included gardening, cooking, making floral arrangements, playing Euchre and poker, watching western movies and The Golden Girls, and taking road trips 'home' to West Virginia for some much needed time with her sisters.
She was famous for her fudge and singlehandedly keeping Bob Evans in business. She spent all of her free time creating memories with her family. Everything from playing baseball to horseback riding with her grandkids to hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for 50.
She had a great sense of humor and found joy in the little things in life. She was creative, strong willed, and the glue that held her family together. She is already deeply missed leaving a void that can never be filled.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her favorite family member, her beloved Poodle, Molly. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Dorsey, Elmer, Elza Lee, Mount Vernon 'Chip', and William; sisters, Helen, Ellen, and Dorothy. Fay is survived by her two daughters, Nicole Kendall-LaChet and Tatia (Bill) Baxter; grandchildren, Nathan, Keisha, Brittany, Joshua, Jordi, Micah, and Keifer, along with six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43207. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Mark A. Robinette will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Johnson Family Cemetery on Moses Fork Mountain, Crum, West Virginia.
