He was predeceased by: his parent William A. Minear; and his brothers, David Mark Minear and Richard E. Minear. He is survived by: his parent Eleanor Frances Minear (Melrose); his wife Deborah K. Godfrey Minear; his children, Wm Michael Minear II (Doris King) and Michelle Renee Reck; his stepchildren, Kelly Lynch (Shawn), James M. Minear (Allyson) and Shane Minear (Cristy); and his siblings, James L. Minear (Karin), William A. Minear II (Beth) and Judith Carol Minear. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
