He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Ada; his wife Margaret Ann (Muehlheim); his daughter Susan; his grandson Daniel; and his brothers, Neal Pennell and Keith Pennell.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Thies (Duane Leidy), Donna Pennell, Timothy (Tammy Ashton), Marcia Pothier (Peter) and Kevin (Julie). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
