He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse and Helen Chidester (Nannah); his former wife Nancy C. Chidester; and his siblings, Mary Nicholson, Helen Clark, Debbie Chidester and Dean Chidester.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Black Chidester (Conn); his children, Sherry Chidester of Salem, Sharon Marriner of Lisbon, Shirley Kale (Brett) of Lisbon, Shawna Hollabaugh (John) of Lisbon and Jesse Chidester Jr. (Marcy) of East Palestine; his stepchildren, Julie Rambo of Columbiana and Rob Black of Cottonwood, Arizona; his siblings, Dora Jarvis of Salineville, Nancy Brink of Salem, Martha Flemming of Roy, Carolyn Dauwe of Manvell, Linda Iscenschmid of Lisbon, Darlene Knarr of Austintown, David Chidester of Orange Park and Joseph Chidester of Canton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Seth Marriner and Gabrielle Kale; and his stepgrandchildren, Garret Rambo and Abby Rambo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
