He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton A. Backer and Mary G. Backer (Wackerbarth); and his wife Northa Lucille Backer (Adams). He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Lynne Eagan (Dan) of Seven Valleys, PA and Melody Ann Mercer (Rick) of Winona; his grandchildren, Matthew T. Mercer (Jeremy Davis), Rick Mercer (Lynne), Steve Mercer (Heather) and Kristy Frost; and his great grandchildren, Chelsea Ivan (Ryan), Chad, Jack and Luke Mercer. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Face masks must be worn and social distancing protocols will be observed.
