He was predeceased by: his father Justin Shadley; his wife Betty Stephens; his son Mack Shadley; his siblings, Jay Shadley and Lorene Symonds; and his stepsons, Fred Reed and Dan Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Allen Shadley of Lima, Elena Reedy of Lima and Kami Truman of Lima; his stepsons, Maverick Matthews of Stanton, KY and Shawn Matthews of Lima; and his sister Genevieve Symonds of Dayton. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
