As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sylvan may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Essick and Jennie Essick (Schecter). He is survived by: his wife Rita Essick (Haumesser); and his children, Edward "Skip" Essick (Sharon), Theresa "Tess" Oder (Keith), Jeannine Carrier (Jere), Elyse Kleman (Phil) and David Essick (Masako). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (2200 W Elm St, Lima, OH 45805). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
