He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammie Lee and Bertha Simpson (Clark); his son-in-law Earnest Smith; his brothers, Charlie Simpson, Ector Simpson and Leroy Simpson; his brothers-in-law, Clarence Brown and Clifford Watson; and his sisters, Sarah Shine and Ella Mae Watson.
He is survived by: his children, Tawanda Jones of Lima, Ginnice Smith of Union City, TN., Carmalina Simpson of Westerville, OH, Jay W. Simpson Jr. (Canaia) of Toledo, OH, Anthony Simpson of Lima and Ardell Simpson (Kendra) of Celina, OH.; and his siblings, Bertha Upshaw (Joe) of Lima, Josephine Brown of Lima, Willa Simpson of Lima and Samuel Simpson (Sue) of Lima. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice, whom the Simpson family is grateful to for their care of JW in his final days.
