He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitchell M. "Mike" Black and Irene C. Black (Dorsey); his in-laws, E. Verner and Lizzie Frykman (Borchers); and his brothers, Mitchell "Moot" Black (Genia), Bruce Black (Wendla) and Jack Black.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Black (Frykman); his children, Mark Allen Black (Katherine) and Tammy Lynn Holme; his grandchildren, Shanda Marie Holme, Alexander J. Black (Rochelle), Tyler M. E. Holme and Stephanie Stout; and his siblings-in-law, Richard M. Frykman (Diane M.), Susan J. Olsen (James) and Deborah Black. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
