He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Wiechart and Lucille G. Wiechart (Martz); his wife Dolores Ann (Brockert); and his siblings, Helen Grothouse, Jeanette "Jean" Fisher (Roger) and V. J. "Tom" Wiechart (Maralyn).

He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Michele) of Lima, Keith Wiechart (Roz) of Lima, Lisa Taylor (Jay) of Lima and Laura Jones (Bradley) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Kyle Wiechart (Keri), Brittany Sternberg (Jordan), Travis Taylor (Rachel), Anna Schroeder (Garrick), Samuel Crisp, Lydia Wiechart and Eli Jones; his great grandchildren, Kallie, Elianna Wiechart, Josephine Taylor and Zoe Sternberg; and his sister Patricia Musto (Arnold) of Lima. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
