He is survived by: his daughters, Brooke L. Taviano (Luke) of Lima, Sarah J. Thompson of Lima and Molly D. White (Cory) of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Joseph, Wyatt, Tatum, Crew, Charley, Ollie and Berkleigh; his siblings, John Thompson of Arkansas, Cora Ryan of Ohio, Betty Bartz of Ohio, Berna Deene Saylor of Ohio and Sue Harrod of Ohio; his former wife Stacy Bryan Thompson; and his friend Steve Nanchoff of Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Leukemia Research.
