He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur J. Smith and Gwendolyn Smith (Lesh); and his wife JoAnne. He is survived by: his close friends, Joy and Layt Ogle; his children, James J. Smith of Lima and Joy Fletcher (John) of Elida; his grandchildren, Joseph Smith of Toledo, Josh Smith (Ashley) of Middlebury, Justin Smith of Lima, Jenessa Peters (Jason) of Wapakoneta and Jacinda Fried (Jordan) of Lima; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Deacon, Gentry, Jonathan, Emory and Juniper.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deb's Dogs.
