He is survived by: his significant other Kathleen Mathias (Lentz); his children, Craig Mathias (Pamela) of Lima, Joe Mathias of Covington, KY, Lori Best of Lima and Dan Mathias (Tracy) of Lafayette, IN; his grandchildren, Heather Schrier, Hillary Dominiq, Katy Mathias, Sarah Mathias, Jason Mathias, Tyson Mathias, Chelsea Hanjora, Megan Fay, Brock Best, Olivia Schroeder, Bronson Best, Dustin Mathias, Bo Mathias and Dakota Mathias; and his brother Lee Mathias. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home (920 N Cable Rd, Lima, OH 45805). A Mass was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Gerard Catholic Church (240 W Robb Ave, Lima, OH 45801).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerards School.
