He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Anthony Cecala; his stepfather Dr. Gene CaJacob; and his siblings-in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Judith "Judie" Osburn. He is survived by: his wife Cheri Cecala (Osburn) of Lima; his children, Joseph James Cecala of Arvada, CO, Carmen Cecala-Wells (Michael Wells) of Lima, Nicholas J. Cecala of Lima, Jessica Kroeger (Tyler) of Lima, Ellie Cecala (Ethan O'Connor) of Cincinnati, OH and Matthew C. Cecala of Lima; his grandchildren, Rocco, Celia, Kayleigh, Keaton, Kolin and Kal; his sisters, Connie Konst (Gary) of Lenior City, TN, Dona Kaufman (Mark) of Findlay, OH and Cynthia Smiegelski (Tom) of Ann Arbor, MI; his siblings-in-law, Deborah Osburn of Lima and Brian Osburn (Lori) of Wake Forest, NC; his friends, Bitsy, Georgie, Daisey, Pepper, Bella and Slick; and his caregivers, Mona, Mary, Jenny, Caroline, Jess and Fino. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association and any Lima Catholic School or Parish.
