With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Erma Jean Thornton (Lima, Ohio), who passed away on August 15, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Youngblood and Louise Youngblood (Mickens); her son Herman "Dwayne" Thornton; her grandson Zionair Jones; and her siblings, David Youngblood, John Youngblood, Van Youngblood, Jewel Youngblood, Willa Mae Youngblood, Jennie Mae Williams, Christine Youngblood and Ella Collier.
She is survived by: her children, Kayzel Moore of Lima, Christina Leeks of Waco, TX, Walter Jones, Jr. (Keri) of Toledo, Kenya Jones (Stephen), Nwaku of Lima, Marva Fisher of Lima, Trina Fisher of Lima, Falisha Burns of Lima, Sharon Fisher of Lima, Vermetha Shorter of Lima and Alan Fisher of Lima; her brother Joe Youngblood of Lima; her former husband Jimmie Thornton of Waco, TX; her close friend Walter Jones, Sr. of Lima; her sister-in-law Wilma Youngblood of Lima; and her sister Betty Williams of Lima. She is also survived by nine granchildren; eight great-grandchildren; twenty one special grandchildren; and twenty one special great-grandchildren.
