It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas E. Hurt (Lima, Ohio), born in Alger, Ohio, who passed away on July 3, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Carter Hurt and Naomi Marie Hurt Lowe (Holbrook); his sister Patricia Bell Saunders; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy E. Shibler (Dean) and Debra A. Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Donetia H. Hurt (Cook) of Lima; his children, Daniel M. Hurt (Colleen) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, James D. Hurt (Vicky) of Lima, Dawn M. Hurt of San Diego, CA and Melissa Nicole Hurt (Robbins) of Camas, WA; his grandchildren, Madeline Nicole, Ian Douglas Hurt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brooke Nicole Martello (Chris) of Lima, James Gustav Hurt (Fara) of Elida, Canyon Michael Hurt of Elida, Riley Nicole and Gage Elliott Robbins of Camas, WA; his great grandchildren, William and Isabella Martello; his brother James D. "Jim" Hurt (Linda) of Ankeny, IA; and his brother-in-law Richard G. Cook (Maureen) of Jupiter, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
