He is survived by: his wife Pamela "Penny" Mathews (Brown) of Lima; his children, Jason Hughes of Goldsboro, Deina Coats (Mark) of San Antino, Dennis F. Mathews, Jr. of Lima, Adam Mathews (Jennifer) of Lima, Autum Stegg (Dario) of Lima and Heather Lyle (Robert) of Lima, Ohio.; his siblings, David May (Mary-Rose) of Lima, Jerry Mathews of Lima, Ohio., Richard Mathews of Lima, Ohio., Helen Swint (Kelly) of Tennessee and Shelly McPheron of Lima, Ohio.; and his brothers-in-law, David Ridenour, Sr. and Dana McPheron, Sr.. He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
