He was predeceased by: his parents, Polly Ann (Keaton) and Hargis Nichols; his former wife Geraldine Rister; his siblings, R. C. Nichols, Eddie Lee Nichols, Casper Nichols, Carl Nichols, Kelly Nichols, Kathryn Long, Anna Bailey and Glistine Rhine; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Rister, Roy Rister, Larry Mitchell, Sylvia and James Wicker.
He is survived by: his children, David Nichols (Jennifer) of Archbold, Stephanie Baxter (Todd) of Columbus Grove and Stephen Nichols (Sara Panagos) of St. Louis, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin Baxter, Lila, Jonas Nichols and Ireland Heitmeyer; his fiancée Rhonda Heitmeyer; his brothers, Elwood Nichols (Linda) of Lima, George Nichols (Doug) of Lima, Randy Nichols of Lima, Wayne Nichols (Greta) of Lima and Martin Nichols of Lima; his siblings-in-law, Gary Rister, John Rister and Tina Mitchell; and his daughter Bengals (Steelers). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
