He was predeceased by: his brother Donald Yoakam; and his brother-in-law James 'Jim Ward. He is survived by: his parents, David O. Yoakam of Lima and Dorothy M. Ambrose Yoakam of Lima; his siblings, Dennis Yoakam of Lima and Darlene Ward of Lima; and his sister-in-law Mary Yoakam of Lima. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and several cousins.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
