He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Simmons and Evelyn Simmons (Webb); his son Christopher Simmons; his sister Deborah Tallman; and his brother-in-law Marty Butler.
He is survived by: his sons, William Ruch of Lima, Daniel Simmons Jr. of Lima, Matthew Simmons of Lima and Clyde Moore; his grandson Clyde Ian Moore; his siblings, Darla Butler of Lima, Hoyt Simmons (Andrew) of Columbus, Denise Simmons of Columbus and Tina Marlatt (Rich) of Lima; and his daughter-in-law Carol Kellough. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
