He was predeceased by: his parents, Bazil Miles and Irma Miles (Bender); his wife Thelma Samantha 'Sam Shipe; his son Michael R. 'Mick Miles; his stepmother Sarah Roxy Miles; and his siblings, Ronnie Miles and Stella Stout.

He is survived by: his family Sugar Creek Church; his children, Terry Kilgore (Dave) of Lima, Mary Ann Miles of Webster Springs, WV and Mark Miles (Sandy) of Lima; his stepchildren, Donald Thomas (Amy) of Hanover, PA, Scott Thomas of Thurmont, MD, Kim Thomas (Ray Mohr) of Westminster, MD and Dina Speller of Florida; his brother Harley Ray Williams of Orrville, OH; and his sister-in-law Lynn Miles of Webster Springs, WV.. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
