He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Davis and Shirley Davis (Defendifer); and his siblings, Billy Joe Davis and Tammy Layton. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Davis (Laing); his children, Jacob Traucht (Amy Strait) of Wapak and Jamie Traucht of Findlay; his grandsons, Jacob and Blake; his siblings, John Davis of Lima, Lance Layton of Sidney, Tamara Davis of Wapak and Barbara Davis of Lima; his close friend Jeff Tenwalde (Michell) of Lima; and his pets, Miss Kitty and Bella.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Humane Society.
