She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Robert Tarr and Marian Reber (Jeffries); her husband John Robert Whitney; her children, Robert Wydler Whitney and Marilyn Anne Otten; and her daughter-in-law Renee Whitney.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Howard Whitney (Lilian) of Columbus, OH and Elizabeth Roberts Whitney of Lima; her grandchildren, Justin Goodwin, Joshua Shrader, Bryan Turner, Lauren Turner, Hannah Anderson, Robert Otten and Emerson Otten; her sister Lindsey Anne Reber of Rochester, NY; and her son-in-law Kim Otten of Strongsville, OH..
