He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie A. Piehl and Cora Piehl (Webb); his wife Velma Piehl (Winegardner); his former wife Margaret Frances Piehl; his son Robert Piehl; his grandchildren, Jacob Piehl and Racheal Piehl; and his siblings, Maxine Jones (Ralph), Gladys Hall (Joe), Dortha Hervey (Joe), Carolyn Hill (Bill), Lester Piehl (Mary Anne) and Harold Piehl (Toinette).
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Piehl (Susan) of Lima, OH and Linda McGarry (Patrick) of Dimondale, MI; his daughter-in-law Dorothy L. Piehl of Harrod, OH; his grandchildren, Jeromy Piehl (Janel), Scott Piehl (Gloria), Charity Piehl, Quentin "Adam" Piehl (Ashley), Emily Piehl, Eli Piehl (Krista), Alexis Moore and Amanda Taliaferro (Andrew); and his brother Donald Piehl (Carol) of Harrod, OH.. He is also survived by extended family includes numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
