He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Tapocik and Helen Tapocik; his in-laws, Paul and Mary Lou Brennan; and his daughter-in-law Lauren Schummer.
He is survived by: his sister Paula Lantz (Mike); his wife Janet (Brennan); his children, Michele Helmers (Ben), Sean Tapocik (Lauren) and Erin Perry (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Jacob Helmers, Camden, Sophia Tapocik, Francie and Perry.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations to be made in Steve's memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (breakthrought1d.org).
