She was predeceased by: her mother Marcey Hymer (Rob Hymer); her grandparents, Richard and Joan Rockey; and her aunt Laurie Grennay. She is survived by: her father Scott Rockey (Jody McLaren); her brothers, Matthew Rockey, Preston and Mason Dorsey; her grandparents, Gail and Janice Hinderlong; her aunts and uncles, JP Grennay, Marc and Shawnda Hinderlong; her close friends, Jung Woo Lee (Patrick), Chase Eden and Jacob Urmston; and her pets, Sheldon, Ian, Buster, Thomas, Joey, Abby, Molly, Jack, Elliott and Mitzi.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Animal Friends Humane Society at 1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 in honor of Samantha Rockey.

“So sad to lose a young person like Samantha. I remember Samantha from piano recitals as she was growing up. Dale Kieser was her teacher and I always had the honor of hosting those recitals and introducing the students. I had the pleasure of introducing Samantha many times. When she was in the 3rd grade, she played Linus and Lucy on the piano. And her grandmother Janice Hinderlong and my mother taught 2nd grade together for years and were good friends. My deepest sympathies to everyone.”
