She was predeceased by: her parents, Grace Catherine Barnette and William James Sowder; her husband Randal Y. Nicely; and her siblings, Lena McHague, Bessie Bustle, Cleo Bustle and Jack Sowder.

She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara J. Durbin (Alan) and Sonia G. Nicely. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
