He was predeceased by: his brother Michael. He is survived by: his parents, Louis A. McLain and Nellie M. Kohn McLain; his children, Deborah Keefer, Tamilla Martin and Michael McLain (Doris) of Wilkes-Barre, PA.; and his brother Richard McLain (Linda) of Youngstown. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
